Fade reveal trailer showcases VALORANT agents’ deepest fears

Getting inside the head of VALORANT's agents

Fade puts fear at the forefront of VALORANT

Fade had been teased on the official VALORANT twitter in the weeks leading up to her reveal with the other agents seemingly looking corrupted or falling to a dark force in some way — but with no explanation except for the new agent seeming scary. Then, on April 18, Riot Games showed off Fade’s splash art during the VCT broadcast.

With Fade originating in Turkey, the reveal trailer takes place in the country’s largest city, Istanbul. In it, Fade’s trademark black and red smoke plays with the existing agents’ fears. Neon is stopped in her sprinting tracks, Cypher’s face is about to be revealed in front of a dozen cameras, Chamber is separated from his mirror counterpart, former criminal Breach is locked in a cell again, KAY/O looks like he ended up in yet another apocalypse and Sova seems to get blinded.

“I’ve seen your darkest fears,” Fade says in the trailer. “Mine would eat them alive.”

Fade’s dark vibe is based around character fears, but so far nothing about her actual abilities have been revealed. She looks to be invisible as she approaches Sova, but his Recon Bolt appears to reveal her anyway.

Before her official reveal, her appearance leaked ahead of time, along with her abilities. So, while nothing is confirmed, her alleged kit is as follows:

PROWLER (C)
Send out a creature that can follow trails OR be controlled by moving your mouse. Upon reaching an enemy, they will be Nearsighted for three seconds. Only one creature per trail.

SEIZE (Q)
Equip and fire an orb which will stay in the air for a max of one and a half seconds and then slam to the ground. When the orb hits the ground, enemies within the radius will be tethered, take damage and be deafened.

HAUNT (E)
Equip and fire an orb which will stay in the air and then hit the ground. Then it will go back into the air and turn into an eye. If enemies get seen by the eye, they will be revealed and a trail de-buff is applied.

NightFall (Ultimate)
Send out a wave of dark mist. If the mist hits an enemy, they will be deafened, trailed and decayed.
