The Fortnite Championship Series Chapter 3 Season 1 will begin on Feb. 17 with players competing for a piece of the $3 million prize pool. The FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 will be the first championship series of 2022 for all players.
FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 format
The FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 will have two qualifiers, followed by two weeks for the semifinals and finals. The first qualifier will take place from Feb. 17-18, while the second will run from Feb. 19-20. The top eight teams from each qualifier will automatically advance to the FNCS Finals.
The FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 semifinals will be different from previous seasons. Here, Duos will need to win a game or be one of the top six consistent teams a session to qualify for the finals. The semifinals will take place from Feb. 24-27. Only the top 50 teams from the Series Point Leaderboard will compete during Session 1 in each region.
There will be five to six matches in each session for all regions. Session 1 will consist of five matches with only the first 11 teams advancing to the finals. The 11 teams will consist of five Victory Royale winners and the top six consistent teams.
In Session 2, the 51st-61st ranked teams will fill the 11 open slots. Just like the first session, 11 teams made up of winners and consistent performers will qualify for the finals.
The last session will fill the new 11 vacant team spots with the 62nd-72nd teams on the Series Point Leaderboard. All teams here will compete in six matches for three hours. In this session, 12 teams will advance to the finals. Sessions 1 and 2 will both have five matches played over two and half hours.
The FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 Finals will take place from Mar. 5-6. The only change to the finals is the introduction of the Match Point variable. With this, a team can decide to end a competition if they earn 500 total points and 3 Victory Royales. Any team that earns this Match Point before 12 games will be declared champions. However, if a team doesn’t meet this criteria after 12 games, the finals will take the exact format of previous seasons.
