PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to see a consistent wave of major esports tournaments, as KRAFTON Inc announced details for the PUBG Continental Series 5. This includes scheduling for all regions, prize pools, regulations and pick’em challenge rules.

The PCS5 will feature tournaments across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Asia-Pacific. Moreover, the event boasts a prize pool of more than $1 million, with sixteen teams from each region competing for a share of $250,000 each.

Here’s everything you need to know about the PUBG Continental Series 5.

PUBG Continental Series 5 regional qualifiers

For the PUBG Continental Series 5. every region will have separate open qualifiers. NA and LATAM open qualifiers will take place from August 11 to 18. These open qualifiers will consist of 3-4 rounds, based on the number of teams registered. After this, the top eight teams from each sub-region open qualifiers will move on to the sub-regional group stages.

Furthermore, the NA and LATAM group stages will run from August 20-28. Here, the top-16 teams from each sub-region’s ESL PUBG Masters: Phase 2 group stage will join the top eight teams from open qualifiers.  So, each sub-regional group will compete for $25,000 USD and a chance to make the PCS5 Americas Grand Finals.

Only the top-six teams from each sub-regional group stage will qualify for the region’s Grand Finals. However, the teams who occupy positions 7 to 14 from each sub-regional group will compete in the PC5 America’s Last Chance Qualifier. This $20,000 prize pool event will take place just two days after the end of the sub-regional group stages. The first four teams from the Last Chance Qualifiers will earn a spot at the PCS America’s Grand Final.

PCS 5 Grand Finals schedules for all regions

All PUBG Continental Series 5 Grand Finals will take place after regional qualifiers and group stages are completed. Each region’s finals will take place across three weekends, beginning in mid-September. The dates are as follows:

  • Americas: September 16-17|September 23-24|September 30-October 1
  • Asia Pacific: September 16-17|September 23-24|September 30-October 1
  • Europe: September 18-19|September 25-26|October 2-3
  • Asia: September 18-19|September 25-26|October 2-3

Return of crowd-funded prize pools

The  PUBG Continental Series 5 will also feature the pick’em challenge like its predecessor. With this, fans can earn in-game rewards if they correctly predict the outcomes of each regional tournament. Just like in PCS4, fans need voting coupons to vote on the outcomes that they believe will most likely happen. Players can get these voting coupons by watching the tournaments or purchasing thematic PCS5 items. KRAFTON has stated that 30 percent of the money made from the sale of PCS5 items will be added to the prize pool.

To earn in-game rewards, tune into PUBG’s esports YouTube or Twitch channels when the action kicks off from August 11.
