The World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International tournament will return on April 22 for its third season, according to Blizzard. Just like the previous season, the top 24 teams from the Time Trials phase will be divided into three groups of eight.
Each week, players will run dungeons and compete for a spot in the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International Global Finals. A total of six teams will advance to the Global Finals alongside a team from China and the winners of the Last Stand Tournament. As for what’s at stake, it will be the lion’s share of $30,000 per group each weekend, then a $300,000 prize pool at the Global Finals.
Here’s everything World of Warcraft esports enthusiasts need to know about the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International.
Teams to watch
There are recognizable contenders for the weekly crowns within this event. Group A, which will run dungeons between April 22-24, has Echo as big competition. Echo won the previous two seasons of the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International. The team is also known for their victory in the inaugural The Great Push tournament of 2021. More recently, Echo players became the first Race to World First Sepulcher of the First Ones champions after taking down the Jailer in 277 pulls.
Incarnation is also a team to watch out for, as they earned a place in the last season’s World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International right alongside Echo. Meanwhile, Perplexed from Group B will dive into the competition from April 29 to May 1. This team previously fought in the Global Finals alongside Echo, Incarnation, Obey Alliance, Team Name and Aster.Y. As for Group C, the matches will commence from May 6-8, with eight more teams eager to earn a spot in the Global Finals as well.
After these three weekends, the Last Stand Tournament will take place starting on May 20. This will be the last chance for a team to secure a place in the Global Finals. Registration for this particular tournament’s open Time Trial phase is open until May 6 at 1 p.m. EST, and interested teams can sign up via GameBattles.
WoW MDI Season 3
Each weekend, the dungeon-running action will take place on the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel. In addition to the English live broadcast, there will be language streams in French, German, Russian, Spanish and Korean. The broadcasts will begin at 1 p.m. EST each Friday as well.
As for the casters who will provide commentary in the five-versus-five, best-of-three matches, they will be Tristan “Dratnos” Killeen, Caroline “Naguura” Forer, Peyton “Tettles” Tettleton and Alex “Xyronic” Tatge for all weekends. Erik “DoA” Lonnquist and Matt “Mr X” Morello will join the casters as special guests for the first weekend. The Group B lineup will then have Moira “Meeix” alongside DoA.
