Now, the official lineup for this year’s event has been announced, with many of the most iconic fighting game series of all time being represented. Here’s an overview of every game announced for the Evo 2023 lineup.

Evo 2023 will be the first offline Evo since 2018 to feature only eight games in its lineup rather than nine. Here are the eight games players can expect to see on the main stage at Evo this year:

  • Street Fighter 6
  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • Tekken 7
  • The King of Fighters XV
  • Melty Blood: Type Lumina
  • Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Notably, Street Fighter 6 is the only brand new game on the roster, with six games returning from last year. Of these, Tekken 7 has had the greatest longevity; including the online event in 2021, this will be Tekken 7’s eighth consecutive appearance at Evo.

In addition, this year’s event will introduce a brand new bracket known as the Evo Throwback Tournament. It seems the tournament organizers intend to make the Throwback Tournament a regular event going forward. This year, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will return to Evo for the first time since 2017.

Evo 2023 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, from August 4-6. Every single game in the Evo 2023 lineup will have a prize pool of at least $25,000. Of course, the total prize pool for each game will naturally grow higher as people sign up and pour their own money into the tournament.

The Evo TOs also announced that only the top six of each bracket will be featured on the main stage, rather than the top eight as in previous years. This change is likely an attempt to better keep the tournament running on schedule. However, it also seems to affect the prize payouts, as only the top six in each event will place in the money.

As with previous years, players can also expect a large number of community-run side events to take place at Evo 2023. More information about games featured at Evo in an unofficial capacity will likely become available closer to the event.
