Encrypted Storage Vaults in The First Descendant — What they are and how to find them

You might’ve noticed that some of the research materials you require can only be found in Encrypted Storage Vaults in different regions around the world of The First Descendant. If you’re wondering what they are and where to find them, you’ve come to the right place.

How to find Encrypted Storage Vaults

To find them, you’ll have to look explore each area thoroughly. They spawn in various locations and contain core research materials that you’ll need to unlock Descendants and weapons in The First Descendant.

Here’s an example of how to find one: Head to Sterile Land, to the western-most fast travel point.

Go as straight as you can, running along the path. After the path makes a sharp left turn, you’ll leave the path and go onto dirt.

How to access Encrypted Storage Vaults

To open the Encrypted Storage Vault, you’ll need to use a Code Analyzer or Precision Code Analyzer. You’ll then have to go through a series of prompts. Make sure you don’t get any wrong, or your time will quickly run out and you won’t be able to open the storage vault without another Code Analyzer.

You’ll have to be pretty quick, too. You don’t have much time.

Where to find Code Analyzers in The First Descendant

Code Analyzers appear to drop from enemies around the world. Doing missions in Sterile Land, Vespers, or Echo Swamp is a viable way to farm Code Analyzers and, more specifically, Precision Code Analyzers. The drop rate is very low, so you might be farming for a while.
