With Elden Ring just ten days away from its global release, the developers at FromSoftware have finally revealed the full list of PC specifications. This includes both the minimum and recommended requirements, giving players a good idea of what they need in terms of hardware to run the game.
Elden Ring is one of the most highly-anticipated titles of 2022. Aside from the fact that Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has helped influence the game, Elden Ring is another entry in FromSoftware’s distinguished lineup of titles. Fans on consoles have nothing to worry about when Feb. 25 rolls around, but PC users will need to check the specifications below to see if their rig can hold up.

Recommended specifications
- Operating System: Windows 10/11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 1070 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- Storage: 60 GB
- Sound Card: Windows-Compatible Audio Device
The minimum specifications are fairly user-friendly, with the CPU and graphics card both being around five years old in 2022. However, the 12 GB of RAM is throwing some players off, as 8 GB is by far the more conventional budget option. This means users with 8 GB of RAM will need to lower their settings quite a bit in order to have a chance at running Elden Ring. Even if they lower their settings, though, the game might be unplayable due to lag and crashes from not having enough memory available.
The recommended specs, on the other hand, are much more manageable for modern rigs. 16 GB of RAM is what most modern systems should have, and the CPU and graphics card recommendations are still multiple years old. To achieve 60 FPS at 1080p, players will need to match the recommended specs with their PC. However, if fans want a higher FPS or resolution, they’ll likely need modern hardware that was released in the past year or two.
The good news is that Elden Ring can run on older systems. However, the caveat is that in order to do so, players’ RAM configuration might need to be increased.
