Does Modern Warfare 3 feature Diamond camo?

Is Diamond unlockable?

Full multiplayer details are still a little sparse for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but that doesn’t mean that the developers haven’t teased some potential content. One example of this occurs during the multiplayer reveal trailer, where it looks like a brief glimpse of Diamond camo is showcased on a weapon in Modern Warfare 3.

This glimpse occurs around halfway through the trailer and the weapon that is showcased appears to have all of the looks of a Diamond gun. There are shiny, white gems that cover the gun, which is what Diamond camo has looked like in past Call of Duty games. However, there are some misconceptions about this camo, which I will get into in the guide below.

Is Diamond camo in Modern Warfare 3?

Unfortunately, according to multiple sources, the “Diamond camo” that is showcased is not Diamond at all. Instead, it’s one of the camos that comes with the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 3. As you can see in the screenshots below, the promoted Vault Edition image and the screenshot from the multiplayer reveal trailer look very similar.

The camo on the right side of the Vault Edition image appears to be the camo that is showcased during the reveal trailer. However, some fans are speculating that a separate Diamond camo is equipped on top of the Vault Edition skin in the trailer. It does appear that the Vault Edition skin and the camo in the trailer are slightly different, but that could be a reactive effect we don’t know about with the Vault Edition skin.

At this point, we simply don’t know what the trailer is really showing. It’s also unconfirmed if a Diamond Mastery camo is even featured at all in Modern Warfare 3. We will hear more about Mastery camos in the game closer to launch on Nov. 10. If I were a betting man, though, I would say there is a high chance of Diamond returning in Modern Warfare 3, as Modern Warfare 2 didn’t feature it and the two games will have completely different camo grinds.
