Does Dying Light 2 Stay Human have guns?

The game features a little more than just melee weapons

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is mainly built around a combat system that utilizes melee weapons. Almost all of the skills in the Combat Skills menu improve your chances of taking down an enemy with melee attacks. However, as players wondered with the original Dying Light, does Dying Light 2 also feature some guns? The answer is technically yes but there are some major caveats to it.

In terms of ranged weapons, there are some legitimate contenders that you can use. From a standard bow to a lethal crossbow, you can go around the Central Loop or Old Villedor sniping enemies from a distance. There’s even a skill to help you be more accurate with a ranged weapon. Guns are a different story, however, as there’s really only one available in Dying Light 2. Below, you can see what that gun is and how to acquire it.

Guns in Dying Light 2

The only known gun in Dying Light 2 is called the Boomstick. It’s a mini-shotgun of purple rarity that only has two rounds in it. It can deal 100 damage to an enemy and gives some health bonuses as well. However, once you fire the two shots, it’s gone forever.

There are a few chances to acquire the Boomstick in Dying Light 2. We found it by killing Elias of the Renegades during the side quest “Renegades.” This quest is immediately available after completing the main story quest “Orders.” You can also acquire a blueprint to craft the Boomstick, which can be acquired via a Craftmaster. You’ll need 100 scraps to craft it, though, which is a ton of material.

This is the only real gun we’ve discovered so far in Dying Light 2. If you want other ranged weapons, though, you can go for a bow or crossbow. One such bow is given to you for free after making it to the Central Loop with Lawan. You can also nab a free crossbow by giving enough City Alignment upgrades to the Peacekeepers. The fourth upgrade on the Peacekeeper’s Alignment path is called the “Crossbow Pack,” which adds the crossbow to your inventory.

For the most part, you’ll be using melee weapons in Dying Light. But there are some chances to use ranged weapons, so make the most of them.
