Dillon Francis to perform at 2021 Overwatch League Grand Finals

A new genre of music joins the grand finals pre-show

Dillon Francis, DJ and electronic musician, is set to perform at the 2021 Overwatch League Grand Finals, just before the match begins. Francis follows the tradition of big-name musicians performing at the finals, including DJ Khaled in 2018 and Zedd in 2019.

How to watch Dillon Francis’ set

The 2021 Overwatch League Grand Finals are proving to have a lot of content for fans. Besides the finals themselves, starting around 9 p.m. ET, there will be both Overwatch 2 content and now a musical performance to tune into. This leads to a new updated schedule for the finals.

The final Watchpoint Pre-Show of the season will start the event, with analysts covering the day previous as well as the upcoming final match. During this time, the Bastion and Sombra reworks for Overwatch 2 will be revealed.

Then, the musical set begins just before the grand finals. Dillon Francis is set to perform at 8:45 p.m. ET, playing his past music, as well as songs for his upcoming album “Happy Machine,” which is coming out on Oct. 5 of this year.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, live events across the world were affected. As the Overwatch League adapted and persevered, the 2020 Overwatch League Grand Finals held an entertaining match between the San Francisco Shock and Seoul Dynasty, however without a musical performance. Now, in 2021, at the final tournament of the original Overwatch game, the musical performance returns. Francis and the Overwatch League look to send off the final season with a good show; this time, with fans dancing or bobbing their heads from home, instead of at an arena.
