Dillon Francis, deadmau5, Steve Aoki to join Fortnite Party Royale

Epic Games has a surprise for Fortnite players — more live performances for the Party Royale mode. Called the Party Royale Premiere, three artists will play a live show back to back on the Main Stage. The show starts with Dillon Francis, deadmau5, and Steve Aoki on Friday, May 8 at 9 p.m. ET and will last an hour. Fortnite previously held a concert featuring a giant hologram Travis Scott and another show with Diplo and Jordan Fisher.

Dillon Francis, deadmau5, and Steve Aoki hit the Fortnite Main Stage

Fortnite has a pretty good reason to celebrate in the Party Royale Premiere. The game just recently hit 350 million registered users, with 3.2 billion hours logged in-game. While huge, that number isn’t surprising. With recent events bringing Star Wars lightsabers and an X-Force tie-in, and now whole concerts, there’s something for everyone in the game.

Each artist will have a full show on the Party Royale Main Stage. No weapons are allowed in this game mode, and building is off-limits. The only things allowed in this game mode are partying and good times. If you’re like me and are usually fashionably late to any show, Fortnite is allowing players to jump into the show at any time. Players do not have to queue up for the Party Royale this time around.

If players get bored, there are a few things to do on the island other than watch the show. Players can take on an aerial obstacle course at the Skydive Rift or race against other players at Fishsticks’ Boat Race. There are also items for purchase at The Plaza, including a new Paint Launcher.

Players that show up to the event get some cool equipment, the Neon Wings Back Bling. Described as “music-reactive,” these wings will be given to anyone who logs into Fortnite May 8 at 6 p.m. ET to May 11 at 10 a.m. ET.

The set ends at 10 p.m. ET, but if players miss it, the whole show will be rebroadcast on May 9 at 2 p.m. ET, again on the Main Stage.
