Spoiler season is in full swing for Magic: The Gathering Core Set 2020 and we’ve likewise seen a ton of cool cards for MTG Arena. So far, we’ve seen new Planeswalkers, some awesome reprints, and a few really neat legendaries. Lotus Fields
So… this card is a lot to take in. First off, it’s a land that has hexproof, which is rare and very important because it’s a crazy strong land once it untaps. Three mana of any color is insane. In fact, the original card that did this was Black Lotus, and that card is one of the most expensive cards ever printed ($22,000). This land, however, has a massive drawback in that you have to sacrifice two lands. This can be played around by floating mana from those lands before sacrificing them, but it is still pretty rough. Initially, not many decks want this. However, Amulet Titan in Modern could utilize their hyper-ramp strategy to make the downside of this card a little less bad.
It’s also worth noting that this card will be on MTG Arena. We will have it in Standard. This is cool since Core Set 2020 seems to have a “lands-in-the-graveyard-matter” theme, so we may see some cool combos in the future spoilers.
Omnath, Locus of the Roil
Omnath is back! He seems to have gained another color of mana since his last appearance and two more since his first appearance. This card seems to be very, very much geared towards Commander players. However, Omnath, Locus of the Roil could be an awesome payoff if an elemental deck springs up on MTG Arena. In long, grindy games, he can draw you cards with his last ability, which may come into play against control decks that take a while to win. Also, Standard has a few ways of ramping out lands right now, so maybe hitting 8 lands is easier than it looks.
Additional Core Set 2020 spoilers

We’ve got lots of interesting things here! Steel Overseer is such a good reprint to see for Modern affinity players, and Nightpack Ambusher is absolutely fantastic for wolf/werewolf tribal. Overall, Core Set 2020 is looking awesome from these spoilers.
