North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive organization Extra Salt announced that their roster has signed to Complexity Gaming. The official announcement confirms a report released in December by HLTV, stating that the Dallas-based organization was working to acquire the Extra Salt squad.
According to the report, Complexity were initially interested in buying the Danish Copenhagen Flames roster. However, as the deal stalled, Complexity began pursuing other options.
On Tuesday, Extra Salt confirmed on Twitter that Johnny “JT” Theodosiou, Justin “FaNg” Coakley, Ricky “floppy” Kemery and coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen will join Complexity. Furthermore, Michael “Grim” Wince and Paytyn “junior” Johnson have completed their transfers from Team Liquid and FURIA Esports.

In an HLTV interview, Graham Pitt, CS:GO General Manager for Complexity, stated the organization knew they “would be moving towards a full rebuild of the CS:GO roster as our old team went their separate ways.”
Furthermore, in the interview, Pitt clarified Complexity always intended to have a team based in North America. However, complications “with the pandemic meant it wasn’t a viable option for the past few years,” he said.
Signing the core of Extra Salt means that Complexity are acquiring a young group of players who have built undeniable chemistry over the past years. What’s more, the addition of junior and Grim round out the roster with heavy firepower. While players on the new Complexity roster are staples of North American CS:GO, they’re still early in their overall career.
Complexity’s 2022 CS:GO roster is as follows:
- Johnny “JT” Theodosiou
- Justin “FaNg” Coakley
- Ricky “floppy” Kemery
- Paytyn “junior” Johnson
- Michael “Grim” Wince
- Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (coach)
Complexity will debut their new roster at the Funspark ULTI 2021 finals from Jan. 18-24.
