Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a brand new Action RPG from developer Don’t Nod that takes place in 17th-century Massachusetts. You’re a ghost hunter who has to make impossible choices over the course of the game, all of which play a pivotal role in how the plot plays out. It’s certainly an enticing premise for a game, but are Steam Deck users able to experience it?
The Steam Deck has been able to support a wide variety of new titles in the past few years, but owners of the handheld PC can never be sure if a game can run on it or not. Fortunately for any Steam Deck users, you can check out the guide below to see if the handheld supports Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden or if you have to play it on your desktop.
Playing Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on Steam Deck
You’re in luck if you have a Steam Deck, as Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is fully supported on the handheld device. There have been multiple videos that showcase how well the game runs on the handheld, so you should have no issues while playing.
However, some users have reported the occasional FPS drop during combat or cutscenes, which is to be expected. For the most part, though, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden seems to be extremely well-optimized on Steam Deck, especially when running FSR 2.2.
My recommendation for your graphics settings in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is to cap your FPS at 30 and use low-medium settings. Although, you can turn “Textures” up to high and not experience too big of a performance hit, from what I’ve seen. You also want to ensure you’re using FSR 2.2, as this will provide a huge performance boost at virtually no cost to the overall graphical fidelity.
