Can you capture Zoe and Grizzbolt in Palworld? Does the boss-catching bug still work?

Who doesn't want to catch their foes?

Palworld is a game that millions of gamers around the world have fallen in love with in just a few short weeks, but like any game in early access, it’s full of its issues. Some of these can be infuriating and completely ruin the gameplay experience, while others simply add to the fun.

One that only made things better was the bug that would allow players to capture Zoe and Grizzbolt during their battle in the Palworld story. That’s right, you could put these two foes to work in your base as a sort of divine justice for interrupting your travels. Pretty cool right?

Of course, with any bug it’s going to be patched eventually so to save you the time, here’s what you need to know about the status of this ultra-fun glitch.

At the time of publishing, it seems the ability to catch Zoe and Grizzbolt has not yet been patched out of Palworld. This means you can take advantage of the Wanted bug and do it yourself right now!

  • First, achieve Wanted status by attacking an enemy merchant around the Palworld map
  • With Wanted status active head into the boss fight with Zoe and Grizzbolt
  • Simply wait for the PIDF Guards to attack the boss, don’t attack them yourself
  • Once the boss has frozen still then toss a Pal Sphere and you should have your prize caught!

It probably won’t surprise you but the Palworld devs never intended to allow players the ability to catch its bosses. This is only possible because of an issue with how the AI interacted with them while Palworld players were Wanted.

Perhaps in the future even after it is patched out, a new method will surface allowing players to achieve the same result and get the chance to put their fallen enemies to work. Fortunately, for now, you can stick to what we know works.
