If you’re new to Diablo 4 you’re probably wondering how it works, and most importantly, if you can play offline. Unfortunately, the reality might not be what you were hoping for.

Does Diablo 4 have an offline mode?

Sadly no, Diablo 4 does not have an offline mode so there is no way to play the game without an internet connection.

There are several reasons why Blizzard has chosen to require a constant connection with the biggest being to avoid any version compatibility issues, stop cheaters, and modders, and better manage player data. But that doesn’t make it any less annoying for those gamers who just want to play when out of internet range.

It is possible that an offline mode for Diablo 4 could roll out in the future, but we wouldn’t count on it. Day by day it seems more games are opting to require a constant internet connection, so for Diablo 4 to go the opposite way seems unlikely.

Fortunately, if your reason for wanting an offline mode is so that you can play without interference from other players then you’ll be glad to know that you can still enjoy Diablo 4 solo, while connected to the internet.

Should any new information surface regarding the addition of offline play to Diablo 4 this article will be updated, but in the meantime, you’re going to have to stick with playing online.
