Brawlhalla Esports announces $1.32 million prize pool for Year Seven

$500,000 will be up for grabs at the World Championship

Brawlhalla Esports announced details for its upcoming Year Seven season on Tuesday. The circuit will notably feature a $1.32 million prize pool across all events. In comparison, the 2021 Smash World Tour launched with a $210,000 prize pool across all events.

The 2019 Brawlhalla circuit featured $500,000 in prizes before making a jump to $1 million in 2021. Although 2022 will bring a smaller increase, Year Seven still boasts the largest prize pool in Brawlhalla Esports history.

Unlike many other platform fighters, Brawlhalla is free to play. The game features a weekly rotation of nine playable characters that players can select for free. Competitors can permanently unlock the game’s 54 playable characters using Brawlhalla’s in-game currency, Gold, or real-world money. Likewise, players can acquire unique skins, knockout effects, emotes and other in-game effects using Mammoth Coins, which they can only purchase with actual money.

Brawlhalla Esports: Year Seven’s whopping prize pool will be split up across multiple events. The circuit will include four Seasonal Championships, each with a $100,000 prize pool split evenly between the Singles and Doubles brackets. However, the amount of money up for grabs varies based on the competitor’s region. The Seasonal Championship prize pool for both Singles and Doubles in each of the five regions is as follows:

North America – $17,500
Europe – $17,500
South America – $10,000
Australia – $2,500
Southeast Asia – $2,500

Outside of the Seasonal Championships, there are multiple other tournaments scattered throughout the year. These include the OMEN Oasis Championship in February, the three-versus-three Crew Battle Invitational in March, the Midseason Invitational in June and Brawlhalla’s first Japan Invitational in September. The circuit will culminate with the Brawlhalla World Championship 2022 in November, which will feature $500,000 in cash prizes.

Brawlhalla Esports: Year Seven will kick off with the two-versus-two Winter Championships in Australia, Southeast Asia and South America. All three of these online events will begin on Jan. 28.
