Best team comps for TFT Set 8 Patch 13.1

Aces are invaluable in Patch 13.1

Here are some of the best team comps in TFT Set 8, on the recent Patch 13.1, with some familiar carries and traits coming back to light. With the previous patch’s noticeable carries of Yuumi and Zed, this new patch has boosted ones like Samira, Miss Fortune and more to higher win rates.

Ace is the best trait in Patch 13.1

Looking at win rates, currently, the Ace trait is one of the best. For those who need a refresher, Ace is a unique trait that allows you to execute low-health enemies if you either have only one on your board or four. If you run one Ace, they execute enemies under 15% health, and if you run four unique Aces, under 30%.

There are two current variations on the four Ace compositions, but both are very strong in their own right.

Ace Miss Fortune

To start, let’s go with the more familiar one where Miss Fortune is the carry. Here is the list, from lowest rarity unit to highest.

  • Draven (Mecha: PRIME/Ace)
  • Cho’Gath (Threat)
  • Rammus (Threat)
  • Miss Fortune (Anima Squad/Ace)
  • Samira (Underground/Sureshot/Ace)
  • Zac (Threat)
  • Fiddlesticks (Corrupted/Threat)
  • Mordekaiser (Laser Corps/Ace)

With her ability doing a lot of damage over a wide space, putting items like a Spear of Shojin and a Jewelled Gauntlet leads to a lot of dead enemies. Plus, when stacked with the three other Aces needed to activate the four Ace trait, she can wipe a board with one ability cast. With this comp, Threats help keep the board strong and your damage dealers alive.

Ace Sett

The second variation of the Ace trait focuses on Sett more than Miss Fortune. Here is the list.

  • Wukong (Mecha: PRIME/Defender)
  • Draven (Mecha: PRIME/Ace)
  • Jax (Mecha: PRIME/Brawler)
  • Miss Fortune (Anima Squad/Ace)
  • Samira (Underground/Sureshot/Ace)
  • Sett (Mecha: PRIME/Defender)
  • Leona (Mecha: PRIME/Renegade/Aegis)
  • Mordekaiser (Laser Corps/Ace)

Instead of Threats, this composition focuses on Mecha: PRIME units, and building up Sett as one of the strongest tanks available. This comp still keeps the power of 4 Ace units, but puts more stock into Sett than the Threats in the Miss Fortune comp. Items such as Redemption, Sunfire Cape and Dragon’s Claw help make Sett nigh unkillable as your Aces clean house.

Sureshot and Civilian Samira are powerful again

In the early patches of TFT Set 8, both the Sureshot and Civilian Samira compositions were very strong, and they’ve returned for Patch 13.1.

Sureshot Samira

  • Wukong (Mecha: PRIME/Defender)
  • Alistar (Ox Force/Mascot/Aegis)
  • Samira (Underground/Sureshot/Ace)
  • Sett (Mecha: PRIME/Defender)
  • Aphelios (Ox Force/Sureshot/Arsenal)
  • Fiddlesticks (Corrupted/Threat)
  • Leona (Mecha: PRIME/Renegade/Aegis)
  • Nunu & Willump (Gadgeteen/Mascot)

The focus of this composition, both variations of it, is to make Samira a force to be reckoned with. Items such as Infinity Edge, Last Whisper and Giant Slayer make her ability one-shot enemies, especially since she keeps the Ace trait. Much like the Ace comps from earlier, the point is to keep Samira alive by building a wall in front of her. Aphelios can also be a strong unit if obtained early and fed with strong items.

Civilian Samira

  • Galio (Civilian/Mascot)
  • Sivir (Civilian/Sureshot)
  • Alistar (Ox Force/Mascot/Aegis)
  • Senna (Laser Corps/Sureshot)
  • Samira (Underground/Sureshot/Ace)
  • Zac (Threat)
  • Aphelios (Ox Force/Sureshot/Arsenal)
  • Janna (Civilian/Spellslinger/Forecaster)

For this variation, it is easier to build the board you want earlier on in the game thanks to Galio and Sivir. Plus, this composition has a bigger focus on the Sureshot trait, meaning that Samira builds to do more damage as the fight goes on. The frontline can be weaker than the previous comp, but the Civilian trait allows the team to cast abilities so much faster.

Anima Squad is a good backup

Last but not least, the Anima Squad composition is back.

  • Nasus (Anima Squad/Mascot)
  • Jinx (Anima Squad/Prankster)
  • Alistar (Ox Force/Mascot/Aegis)
  • Riven (Anima Squad/Brawler/Defender)
  • Vayne (Anima Squad/Recon/Duelist)
  • Ekko (Star Guardian/Prankster/Aegis)
  • Miss Fortune (Anima Squad/Ace)
  • Sejuani (Laser Corps/Brawler)

Though, this composition usually only works if you get three Anima Squad units early on, building stacks from wins. Plus, Miss Fortune makes an appearance again in TFT Set 8 comps, but this time stacking health instead of getting that 4 Ace trait.
