Best team compositions in Season 2 of Overwatch 2

Roadhog, Doomfist, and Orisa comps are the norm

With Season 2 of Overwatch 2 already underway, here are some of the best team compositions after the first hotfix in Season 2. While that hotfix did make some significant changes, most team compositions will stay around until more major changes come through, through future hotfixes or by the next season.

To start, let’s go with one of the more common team compositions in ranked right now:

Roadhog/Ana is strong in Season 2

  • Tank: Roadhog
  • DPS: Bastion/Reaper
  • DPS: Widowmaker/Ashe/Soldier: 76/Sojourn/Cassidy
  • Support: Ana
  • Support: Kiriko

With Season 2 making Roadhog so powerful, along with recent Ana buffs, both of them are popular in ranked right now. This comp is essentially relying on Roadhog getting picks, Bastion or Reaper focusing on the enemy tank while the others focus on enemy support or DPS players. Kiriko helps keep Ana alive while cleansing Roadhog when needed or saving the day for DPS in bad situations.

Doomfist comp a new highlight

  • Tank: Doomfist
  • DPS: Tracer
  • DPS: Reaper/Cassidy/Soldier: 76
  • Support: Kiriko
  • Support: Lucio/Ana/Mercy

Where the Roadhog comp relies on pick potential, Doomfist’s is essentially a new dive comp. Doomfist jumps towards the supports, while Tracer follows up to clean up. The other DPS choice depends on who your secondary healers are, and vice versa. Lucio works great with Reaper, Ana works great with Soldier: 76 and Cassidy. Both have their merits, but the rest is standard for Doomfist comps right now.

Orisa makes waves with hotfix buff

  • Tank: Orisa
  • DPS: Reaper/Cassidy/Soldier: 76
  • DPS: Widowmaker/Ashe/Bastion
  • Support: Kiriko
  • Support: Lucio/Ana/Zenyatta

With the recent Orisa buffs from the hotfix weeks into Season 2, she’s proven to be a formidable foe against both Doomfist and Roadhog. Her comp is a bit more open to interpretation, with the only two solid picks being Orisa and Kiriko. But, this comp works well with double hitscan, Reaper/Bastion, and even Zenyatta if you get a good map for him. In terms of play style, think of Orisa as a different flavor of Roadhog; someone who can soak damage but also get picks. Orisa is a bit more tanky and mobile though, so better on some maps than Roadhog.

If you don’t feel comfortable on either Roadhog or Doomfist, Orisa is a good team pick in Season 2 of Overwatch 2.
