Best AMR9 loadout in MW3

Since the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the AMR9 submachine gun has been arguably the worst gun in its class. Even with its top-rated loadout, the AMR9 simply had a hard time competing with most other weapons in MW3 multiplayer.

However, due to the SMG’s underpowered nature, the developers at Sledgehammer Games decided to give the AMR9 a buff in a recent update. The buff was mainly to the AMR9’s mobility, which was absolutely abysmal for an SMG. Now, the AMR9 has a faster aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time, which drastically affects the strongest loadout for the gun.

Best AMR9 loadout in MW3

• Muzzle: Purifier Muzzle Brake S
• Barrel: AMR9 Commando Pro Barrel
• Underbarrel: XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop
• Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds
• Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip

The main goal of this loadout is to increase the AMR9’s recoil control and damage range. Seeing as the recent buff to the SMG made its mobility much better, we don’t have to worry about that stat as much. I picked some of these attachments specifically to increase horizontal recoil, which is primarily what the AMR9 struggles with compared to vertical recoil. The XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop and Purifier Muzzle Brake take care of that job. You also gain extra damage thanks to the AMR9 Commando Pro Barrel and the 9mm High Grain Rounds.

This AMR9 loadout is perfect for mid-range engagements but can also be utilized at close range or at longer ranges if absolutely needed.
