Quake Champions – Athena

Athena looks to be one of the most mobile choices you can have in Quake Champions. Using her grappling hook, she can quickly traverse entire sections of the arena. You can do this to get in close for in-your-face kills, or sneak behind unwary opponents. Of course, you can also take flight and escape quickly if you’re at a disadvantage.

From the trailer itself, we already know she’s going to be one of the most annoying champions that you’ll have to deal with. We still have shivers thinking every time a fast-moving opponent zips past us and we have to frantically turn our characters around.

It’s also worth noting that long-time fans have anticipated Athena’s debut in the game. Last year when developers announced that they’d eventually have a champion using a grappling hook, players correctly guessed that it would be Athena.

Athena will be playable in the Quake Champions public test server in mid-September and will be available for regular matches at a later date. As usual, stay tuned to Daily Esports for more Quake Champions news.
