The Summer Game Fest is returning for 2022, and the event released its official partner list on Monday. It’s currently rumored that the next title in the main series Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare 2, will be officially revealed at the Summer Game Fest on its opening day, June 8. There are no indications as to exactly what the reveal could entail, however, but Activision has previously shown off a cinematic trailer with some gameplay from the Campaign mode during past reveals. There could also be a confirmed release date for an alpha/beta test, both of which would likely take place in August/September.

The latest reports say that MWII will get an alpha featuring the popular Gunfight mode in August while a full-fledged multiplayer beta will take place in early September. As previous years have gone, the alpha and beta will be available on PlayStation first, as per Sony and Activision’s exclusivity deal.

June 8 is the date to pay attention to if you’re a Call of Duty fan, but Activision could plan multiple festivities regarding MWII over the course of the Summer Game Fest.
