484 more players get the ban hammer in Once Human

The staff at Once Human have announced another ban wave ahead of the new scenarios that are expected to both be announced officially and start this month and next month. The reasons are listed clearly and communication from Starry Studios and Net Ease has been clear and direct in each ban wave.

This comes in an effort to maintain the integrity of the game, which has seen its initial player base slowly dwindling as players await the promised new content.

Of the 484 players that were banned, five of them received only a one day ban for malicious exploitation of bugs. What, exactly, these bugs are is currently unclear, but it could either be the racing event bug or the bug that lets you access the locked parts of maps during the early phases in a new server. These were quite common not so long ago.

Four more players received a 30-day ban for the use of unauthorized software and (or?) malicious code cracking. This seems a rather light punishment for what sounds like a serious offense, but this is where the mercy ends.

The remaining 475 players have all received a 3600-day ban, which amounts to almost ten years. Couldn’t these players simply create new accounts? That depends on whether the player IP is blocked or not, and even then, there are ways around that.

However, the loss of an account that players have spent hours on to try to improve is a pretty serious punishment.

It’s great to see Once Human taking action against cheaters though. If you want to see the full list, you can find it on the official Once Human website.
