If you have ventured into the Lower City Sewers in Baldur’s Gate 3, then you might have also come across the Undercity Ruins. This is a waypoint that’s found to the north of the sewers but isn’t quite welcoming to newcomers. There are two locked doors right near the Undercity Ruins waypoint, with Bhaal’s Door being the one that halts most of your progress.
As the name of the door suggests, going through the path behind Bhaal’s Door will lead you to the Temple of Bhaal. Plenty happens before that, though, so don’t think you’re home-free just yet. Of course, the first step in your journey to the temple is to simply open the door. Check out my guide below to see how to do exactly that.
Opening Bhaal’s Door in Undercity Ruins in BG3
Bhaal’s Door is located right next to the waypoint. It’s a large stone wall that can’t be lockpicked or moved by any other visible means. Luckily, the way to open the door is not difficult at all.

If you turn around and go near the waypoint, you can look up to find two hanging dead bodies. You need to shoot these bodies with an arrow or a spell to make them bleed on the blood circle that is located on the circular platform they are above.
Once you shoot either one of the bodies, Bhaal’s Door will open and reveal a lever that is used to control the door. With Bhaal’s Door open, you can move ahead in the Undercity Ruins and continue your quest to find the Temple of Bhaal.
However, I will warn you that the path that leads out from the door will take you into a massive combat scene. I have a guide on how to defeat the enemies behind Bhaal’s Door if you’re having trouble with it.
