YNk unhappy with banned CS:GO coaches becoming analysts

After the massive exodus of CS:GO coaches using a spectating bug, changes were being made across the league. However, it seems not all banned coaches want to leave. Plus, it seems their organizations don’t want them to leave either. FaZe clan coach Janko “YNk” Paunović has noticed this issue and is annoyed with how it is being handled.

From banned coaches to…analysts?

In this bulk of coaches who got banned, it included Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen and Slaava “⁠Twista⁠” Räsänen. These two coaches, who work for Heroic and ENCE respectively, used to be coaches but moved to an “analyst” role in their organizations.

I've got nothing against them personally, I've talked to Twista multiple times at LANs and I think he's a great guy but they've smeared the whole scene and especially our profession, how are these orgs still allowing them to be a part of the team???

He called for fair punishment. Joshua “Steel” Nissan’s punishment of not being able to be near coaching teams after the matchfixing scandal was an apt comparison. But, somehow, these coaches abuse a bug and still have a job in their companies? You can see where YNk gets frustrated.

While annoyed though, he did clearly state that he didn’t dislike the people themselves, but simply the lack of fair justice for their actions. Earlier in that Twitter thread, he said “I’m all for giving people second chances but you also need to face the consequences for what you’ve done. What kind of an example are we setting here?” The official current punishment for these banned coaches doesn’t seem to be much. They can’t be communicating with their teams fifteen minutes prior to the game until it is over. They can’t be physically near the match, can’t join the server to spectate, and aren’t capable of vetoing anything. YNk sees this as hardly any punishment, and also said so on Twitter.

Don't even get me started on that, didn't see that specific case but with coaches exploiting the bug for so many rounds (e.g. Hard Legion), there is no chance the players weren't aware and they just played along.

How none of the players got punished for this is beyond me.

This essentially leaves the spotlight on the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and their response to this situation. As the authority who led to these bans in the first place, they either knew or missed that these coaches could return as analysts to their organizations. We are still waiting on either the ESIC or Valve to comment on YNk’s tweets.
