Tanks ANZ PL Season 3 marks the biggest prize pool for the region. There are eight Trans-Tasman teams competing for glory. The competition has also expanded, with the help of the Australian Universities Esports League. Season 3 will now include an exclusive and separate competition, featuring university teams.

The competition will run for ten weeks, with seven rounds of the regular season, before the playoffs. The final round will be the Grand Final match, held on November 13. Lockdown permitting, the World of Tanks team plans for this final to be held in front of a live audience. Fortress Melbourne has been confirmed as the returning finals venue, if in-person events can go ahead.

This season’s prize pool is even bigger too. A $25,000 AUD cash prize pool is up for grabs.

Who to look out for

Jake Truman, the World of Tanks ANZ Product Manager, says the rivalries this season are strong, and the new formats could shake things up. He warns people to keep an eye on the North Sydney Sentinels in particular. “[They] are the two time champions, and I can’t wait to see the fierce competition this season and see who walks away victorious in November.” North Sydney claimed the last two seasons, even if Season 2 almost went to the Brisbane Bulldogs. In an interview with the Bulldogs captain, Matthew “Ravvi” explained the amount of training he and his team had been conducting. They have performed better with each season and they are certainly one of the teams to keep an eye on.

Another Favorite, Melbourne Matildas, will also come out fighting hard this season. After a semi-final upset in Season 2, the Matildas will look to claim a place in the final this November. All eight teams from last season are returning, with information on each team and team member available on the World of Tanks website.
