Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has officially launched, and you can now experience everything that multiplayer has to offer. One key detail that some players in the Modern Warfare 3 community are curious about is in regards to Hardcore mode.
Hardcore is a fan-favorite playlist that is vastly different than the traditional playlists you see in multiplayer. It has almost no HUD, low health, the ability to kill teammates, and can only be played across certain game modes. In this past year’s Modern Warfare 2, the traditional Hardcore mode was not added to multiplayer until months after its launch. While we had access to the Tier 1 game mode from the start, this is not the same Hardcore that players know and love.
Is the traditional Hardcore mode included in MW3 or not? Check out the guide below to find out.
Hardcore Mode in Modern Warfare 3
Fortunately, Hardcore is fully included in MW3 multiplayer at the launch of the game. You can access the mode by going to the main lobby screen in multiplayer and selecting the Hardcore mode box. Here, you can select which specific game modes you want to play and you can filter out the ones you don’t want to play.
This is like the Hardcore mode that has been included in every Call of Duty for over a decade and not like MW2’s Tier 1 mode. It’s not surprising the developers went this route, as Tier 1 was not well-received by the community. And as we’ve seen with other gameplay decisions, the developers at Sledgehammer Games are trying to ensure the community is heard this year.
So there you have it, you can play the OG Hardcore mode in MW3 multiplayer right now and every day in the future.
