Fans of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO are eagerly awaiting details about the game’s features, especially crossplay and rollback netcode. Both features allow for a seamless cross-platform, multiplayer experience. However, as of now, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has not confirmed whether Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will include these functionalities.
Will Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO have crossplay?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will not have crossplay at launch. Although BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has not officially and explicitly confirmed this, historically, crossplay is not something most Dragon Ball games implement.
Will Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO have rollback netcode?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will not have rollback netcode at launch. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Game Producer Jun Furutani had the following to say, “…from the perspective of a fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ is quite e-sports-oriented, or a highly competitive title” when asked about it being implemented in DBSZ.
It has been a mainstay in fighting games, but as Furutani has implied, its implementation is largely dependent on whether or not DBSZ will make its way to the competitive scene.
BANDAI NAMCO’s track record of responding to fans
Historically, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has shown a pattern of incorporating popular community requests into their games. For instance, the addition of rollback netcode in Dragon Ball FighterZ was a direct response to fans’ ongoing requests.
So, there’s hope that if the demand for crossplay and rollback netcode continues to grow, they could eventually be implemented by the developers in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.
