With the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, a new Call of Duty League season begins. The 2023-2024 CDL season won’t start as soon as MW3 launches, but you won’t have to wait too long after to start seeing your favorite team in action.
While there are currently some rumblings about the future of the CDL, the 2023-2024 season is fully set to run a full course from December to July. What happens after that is a mystery to everyone, but for now, we can set our sights on the start of the year.
Below, you can see exactly when the upcoming CDL season will begin and the full schedule for the rest of the year.
The start date for the 2023-2024 CDL season
As announced previously by the CDL, the new season begins on Dec. 8 with the Major I online qualifiers. Like every year before, the format sees teams play a series of online qualifiers to determine their seeding for the subsequent Major event.
For Major I, the online qualifiers run from Dec. 8-Jan. 21. The qualifiers are interrupted by a short holiday break for the teams and staff. Major I will be hosted by the Boston Breach in Boston Massachusetts starting on Jan. 25 and ending on Jan. 28.
Below, you can see the rest of the schedule for the 2023-2024 CDL season.
Major II – Miami Heretics
- February 16-March 17: Online Qualifiers
- March 21-24: LAN Tournament
Major III – Toronto Ultra
- April 12 – May 12: Online Qualifiers
- May 16-19: LAN Tournament
Major IV – Carolina Royal Ravens
- May 24-June 16: Online Qualifiers
- June 20-23: LAN Tournament
At the time of writing, we are unsure exactly where CDL Champs will be held or what the dates for it are. However, since Major IV ends in late June, we can expect Champs to start sometime in mid-July. The current rumor is Champs will be held in Texas, but the CDL has yet to announce anything official on that matter.
With the first qualifiers beginning on Dec. 8, you can expect every CDL team to start scrimmaging a few days after MW3 launches on Nov. 10.
