When can you pre-load the Modern Warfare 2 beta on PlayStation?

Find out when to begin the beta's download

Earlier today, we received some fresh news regarding the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In addition to seeing all of the rewards that players can earn throughout their time playing, it was also revealed when players can begin pre-loading the beta. This is often a big deal for some players, as the download sizes for current multiplayer titles have been enormous. Call of Duty is arguably the worst offender when it comes to this, so players want to ensure they give their system enough time to fully download the game before it goes live.

Luckily, the preloads for PlayStation have already been announced and the date is forgiving for players with a slower internet connection. We still don’t know when the preloads will go live for Xbox and PC, however, as those systems will only have access to the beta during the second weekend, which begins on Sept. 22. PlayStation users who have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 can begin playing right away on Sept. 16.

Keep reading below to find out when you can begin preloading the MW2 beta on PlayStation 4 and 5.

PlayStation preload date for Modern Warfare 2 beta

PlayStation 4 and 5 users who have pre-ordered any edition of MW2 can start to preload the beta on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. In order to do this, players need to have their beta code readily available. You will only receive a beta code if you pre-ordered the game, got it from a third party, or used another method, such as going through Xfinity. Players that digitally pre-order MW2 will not need a beta code, though. The application will simply be ready to download on Sept. 14.

If you didn’t digitally pre-order, go into the PS Store and click on the “Redeem” box in the top-right. Punch in your beta code and you should have the MW2 beta application on your system. The next step is to wait for Sept. 14, at which point you can begin downloading the application onto your PlayStation. Once it’s fully downloaded, you’ll need to wait again for Sept. 16, which is when the beta goes live.
