Riot Games’ card game, Legends of Runeterra officially announced its game plan for the Legends of Runeterra Worlds 2022 tournament on Thursday. As part of the system, each ranked season and Seasonal Tournament will help players earn points and direct invites to the World Championship 2022 Qualifiers. The World Championship will be held later this year. Last year’s Legends of Runeterra World Championship brought together the 16 best players from all over the world. Those players competed for a $200,000 prize pool.

Legends of Runeterra Worlds 2022 roadmap

The first leg of the Legends of Runeterra World Championship 2022 race has already begun. The current ranked season, A Curious Journey, will be the first season where players can earn Ranked Points. Players earn points based on their placement on the ranked ladder. This season will run from Feb. 16 all the way to May 25.

Players can also earn points based on their placements at each Seasonal Tournament. These tournaments are here to stay in 2022, but will feature no official broadcast like previous iterations. However, players will still be able to earn invitations to the World Championship 2022 Qualifiers based on how well they perform at these events. For players that place into the top 4 of a Seasonal Tournament, they will automatically earn a spot in the World Championship 2022 Qualifiers. Everyone else playing in these tournaments can still earn points, which can get them closer to an invite themselves.

Riot Games announced that information on things like the next seasonal tournament, Legends of Runeterra Worlds 2022 format and prize pool will be made available in the coming weeks and months. For now players should focus on grinding on the Ranked leaderboard to put themselves in a position to qualify for a Seasonal Tournament. And then, eventually, the Legends of Runeterra Worlds 2022 Qualifier.
