The Week 7 Weekly Challenges have gone live in Call of Duty MW3 and Warzone, and there are some interesting tasks to complete, especially on the multiplayer side. While most of them revolve around getting kills with Aftermarket Parts, one challenge requires players to get a First Blood in MW3.
If you’re a Call of Duty veteran, you likely already know what a First Blood is. However, the term doesn’t pop up as much as others in the franchise, so you might be confused by what it means even if you’ve sunk hours into COD. Luckily, the term is easy to understand and once you know its meaning, you can breeze through the Week 7 challenge in MW3.
What First Blood means in MW3
A First Blood in Call of Duty is when you earn the first kill of the match or the round. If you’re playing a respawn mode such as Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, etc., then there is only one First Blood per match, which is the first kill that pops up in the killfeed. However, if you’re playing a one-life mode such as Search and Destroy or Cutthroat, then you can earn multiple First Bloods by earning the first kill in each round.
The exact challenge in Week 7 of MW3 reads: “Get First Blood 3 times with a Recommended Weapon.” To complete this task, all you have to do is earn three First Bloods while using a MW3 weapon. If you use a MW2 weapon, the challenge won’t count since none of those weapons are “Recommended.” You can tell if a weapon is Recommended if it has a red flame on its box in the Gunsmith.

So there you have it, everything you need to know about First Bloods and how to complete the Week 7 challenge in MW3. This can be a difficult challenge to obtain, as you can only get one First Blood per match in most of the game modes in multiplayer. As such, I recommend playing Search and Destroy or Cutthroat, as you have multiple chances to earn a First Blood in each match.
