If you’re a veteran of the Call of Duty franchise, or shooters in general, then you likely know what a Collateral Kill is. However, for any newcomers or perhaps players that might have never heard the term before, you need to know what a Collateral Kill is if you want an easier time completing the week one Weekly Challenges in MW3.

I’ll break down how to get Collateral Kills in MW3 in the guide below.

What are Collateral Kills in MW3?

A Collateral Kill is when you shoot a single bullet and it kills two or more players at the same time. If you’re using a sniper rifle, this usually means you shoot at a target and another enemy either gets in front or behind that target, killing them in the process with the same bullet you initially shot.

As you might expect, a Collateral Kill is fairly rare in Call of Duty, as it’s not often two or more enemies line up perfectly for you to kill them with the same bullet. However, if you want to complete this specific Weekly Challenge in MW3, you’ll have to get three “collats” with sniper rifles.

Best way to get a Collateral Kill in MW3

Unfortunately, there’s no fool-proof way to go about getting a Collateral Kill in MW3. However, I do have some tips for you if you’re struggling to get them:

  • Play bigger team, objective-based modes, such as Ground War and Domination, as there are more enemies to shoot at and locations where enemies will be most of the time.
  • Alternatively, you can also play on the smallest maps in MW3, as enemies tend to spawn on top of each other.
  • Watch the spawn points and high-traffic areas for enemies. For example, keep an eye on the B Flag in Domination or the back of an enemy’s spawn, which are the two spots two or enemies will usually be at the same time.
  • Make sure the sniper rifle loadout you’re using is designed for maximum damage range.

Aside from those tips, you’ll have to rely on some good shooting and luck to get the three Collateral Kills you need for this Weekly Challenge in MW3.
