Overwatch League franchise Washington Justice announced they have hired Analynn “bawlynn” Dang as the organization’s newest General Manager. This announcement follows after the team’s undefeated streak in recent weeks where they currently stand at 5 wins and 0 losses.

Dang transitions into the new position from her former role as Director of Social Media and Community for the Los Angeles Gladiators. She is also currently the General Manager for the Overwatch League’s Team USA. This is a position that she has held since 2018.

“My insights and experiences from working with past organizations mean that I’m set up to build on the Justice’s undefeated Stage 4 performance and carry it into the 2020 season,” said Analynn Dang, the incoming General Manager of Washington Justice. “The team is finally living up to its potential with role lock changes, and I am excited to take this momentum and amplify it.”

With her experience in player management, team unity, and leading endorsement activations, Dang will help the Washington Justice adjust to the new game format. With the 2020 OWL season, each team will be required to have a certain amount of home and away games. The Washington Justice, in particular, will host five home games at various venues around Washington D.C.

Dang inherits the General Manager position from Kate Mitchell, who left the organization in 2019. Mitchell worked as the assistant General Manager along with helping with player and coach recruitment. She had previously worked as the manager for Overwatch Contenders teams Kungarna and Last Night’s Leftovers. She revealed the reason for her departure to be around the topic of her mental health. With bawlynn’s experience for Team USA and the Los Angeles Gladiators, she will be a great addition to the team’s current success.

“When growing an organization, it’s essential to invest in cornerstone talent that you can build around,” said Grant Paranjape, the Vice President of Esports Business at the Washington Justice. “Analynn brings an undisputed wealth of game knowledge and organizational expertise with her to the role of GM, and is the perfect addition to the Justice moving into the new season.”

The Washington Justice achieved disappointing results in the first three stages of the Overwatch League, where it placed last or near last in the standings. However, this changed after the 2-2-2 role lock changes were implemented. The team currently stands undefeated with two matches left in the regular season.

The Washington Justice will take on the Atlanta Reign on Aug. 16. They will then play the final game of the current season against Paris Eternal on Aug. 18.
