Warzone 2 could be playable during the MW2 beta, according to leaker

Our first taste of Warzone 2?

We have under one week until Call of Duty Next and the official start of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta. COD Next is set to release a wide-ranging amount of information surrounding MW2 multiplayer, Warzone Mobile, and Warzone 2. Speaking of Warzone 2, fans get might more than they thought they would during the MW2 beta. According to a reputable leaker within the Call of Duty community, Warzone 2 might be playable when the beta goes live next weekend.

The leaker, @TheGhostOfHope, made sure to say that they are “not 100% on this [leak],” but apparently heard something about it from a source. If this is true, then Activision is essentially releasing two separate betas over the course of the next two weeks. One is for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, which has been set in stone for months. However, the other would be for Warzone 2 and presumably would run alongside the beta for MW2.

Warzone 2 beta incoming next week?

TheGhostOfHope didn’t mention how this could work if it does end up coming to fruition. There was no information on if this Warzone 2 beta would be free to all players or require a separate download from the MW2 application. However, given the fact that Modern Warfare 2019 and the current Warzone are still on the same launcher, we would imagine that’s how it would work with MW2/Warzone 2.

If true, then fans could presumably choose what they wanted to play during the beta weekend. This would give Activision and the developers much-needed feedback on Warzone 2 before its rumored launch on Nov. 16.

However, another leaker, Tom Henderson, chimed in to say that they “don’t think there’s a beta for Warzone 2.” There’s been no follow-up by TheGhostOfHope or any other insider, so the possibility of a beta for the next Warzone version is currently up in the air. We would likely hear about a possible beta for the game at Call of Duty Next on Sept. 15, so fans will have to wait until then for any official news.
