Valorant Ignition Series: When and where are the next events?

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Valorant developer Riot Games announced the Ignition Series last month. The Series has so far seen Riot collaborate with an array of local and global esports brands to host Valorant tournaments all over the world.

However, they only initially released details on two upcoming tournaments. With nine events now finished, including two victories for Europe’s G2 and one for North America’s Team Solo Mid, many might be wondering just when the next Ignition Series events will be.

All the matches from the Ignition series events so far have been streamed on the official Valorant Twitch channel, as will most of the future matches in the series.

Ignition Series: Schedule

ORDER Oceanic Valorant Open (July 21 – 26 2020)

This event, as you might think, is open to Oceanic region teams. The main part of this tournament has already been played. The 16 team brackets were cut down to just six teams for the playoffs, which start this Tuesday, July 21st.

The six teams remaining are:

  • Dire Wolves
  • Unnamed
  • Pants Down
  • Exo Clan
  • Team Launch

The teams will be competing for about $3500 in prize money. The tournament is sponsored by Logitech. Community casters can also apply to host the games on their own channel.

PAX Arena Valorant Invitational (July 22 – 26 2020)

This tournament is being co-run by well known expo organizer PAX. It will feature many of North America’s top Valorant teams from this exciting stage in the game’s esports scene. Just some of the big name orgs set to take the (online) stage include TSM, T1, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, Renegades, and many more.

Twenty teams will compete in four groups, for just eight playoff spots. The remaining eight teams will play a knockout tournament before the final on July 26. All matches will be best of threes, except for the final, which will be a best of five.

The teams will all be hoping to hit that first place spot, for a cool $10,000 prize and Valorant Ignition Series glory.

Mandatory.GG x Ignition Series Valorant cup (July 31 – August 2 2020)

This one’s only open to European teams, and will be a simple single elimination bracket of 32 teams. Expect to see most of Europe’s best orgs and players competing, including:

  • G2
  • Giants
  • Royals
  • Prodigy

The G2 squad is the only team to have picked up two Valorant Ignition series tournament wins already. So, that record means they’ll no doubt be pre-tournament favorites here too. One hundred twenty-eight teams will enter, but only one can take the  €10,000 ($11,428) top prize.

RAGE x Ignition Series Valorant tournament (August 1 -8 2020)

Riot Games is clearly looking to tap into the Japanese esports market with Valorant. This event will be the third Valorant Ignition Series tournament to be held in Japan.

A massive 256 teams will take part in an open qualifier, with just eight spaces in the playoff brackets.

Absolute Jupiter were the winners of the last Japanese Valorant tournament. The org took over the previously established Absolute CS:GO team and switched them to Valorant not long after the game launched.
