The first tournament for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has drawn to a close, and Team Shroud has taken home the $100,000 prize money after winning the Doritos Bowl at TwitchCon. Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, a former professional Counter-Strike player, joined friends and streamers Justin “Just9n” Ortiz, Chad “Chad” Goff, and Jake “ChocoTaco” Throop for Blackout competition.
Shroud was among three other popular streamer team captains participating in the Doritos Bowl that included Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Team Shroud won the event with 499.5 points. Team CouRage landed second place at 431.25 points. That team consisted of Tyler “TeePee” Polchow, Damon “Karma” Barlow, Jacob “Hysteria” Reiser, and, of course, CouRage. TeePee and Karma are both former Call of Duty World Championship competitors.
The four teams battled through four heats of Blackout to earn the most points in order to claim victory. One point was awarded for each kill. However, the teams could increase that by earning multipliers at the end of each game. Placing in the top 10 earned the team a 0.5 multiplier. Landing in the top 5 or top 3 spots would earn teams a 0.75 and 1.25 multiplier, respectively. In case you missed it, be sure to check out all of the Doritos Bowl action on Twitch.

All teams played well and put on a great show. In a humorous twist, both CouRage and DrLupo confirmed that they were actually wearing their headsets backward for a portion of the competition. This effectively flips the audio and can mess up your game, especially in Blackout where listening for enemy movements is crucial to both gaining an edge and also staying alive.
Breaking news:
Putting your headset on backwards will flip all the audio. Took me 20 minutes to figure that out live on stage in a $250,000 tournament.
