The newest weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2, the ZRG 20mm sniper, released yesterday April 7. A bolt-action rifle, the weapon packs a punch but lacks in some key areas, making it difficult to create its loadout.
At its core, the ZRG 20mm is another bolt-action sniper that deals high damage one shot at a time. However, its stats are a bit lop-sided, as it features top-tier damage but lacks mobility. In order to viably use it, players need to use a loadout that helps put it on par with the other bolt-action snipers.
Best ZRG 20mm loadout in Black Ops Cold War
In order to unlock the ZRG 20mm, players need to either buy the “Jackpot Sniper Bundle” in the store or complete a challenge. The challenge requires 2 Long Shot medals in 10 different games using a sniper rifle. A fairly easy task, most players should be able to unlock the ZRG 20mm within a couple of hours.
Once done, the process of leveling it up and designing a loadout comes into play. However, players are a bit confused as to which attachments to use since the ZRG 20mm features such strange stats. Luckily, there’s already a recommended loadout floating around the Black Ops Cold War community.
- Muzzle: Sound Moderator
- Barrel: 39.3″ Rapid Fire
- Magazine: 5 RND
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Marathon Stock
The biggest aspect players need to improve on the ZRG 20mm is its slow ADS and sprint-to-fire times. It seemingly takes forever to bring up the weapon and by the time it’s ready, enemies are already shooting at you. So for the recommended loadout, the Airborne Elastic Wrap and Marathon Stock are in use to increase both the ADS and sprint-to-fire times.
Following these two attachments is the 39.3″ Rapid Fire barrel to increase the gun’s fire rate. Also, the Sound Moderator increases bullet velocity, another deficient area, and keeps players off the map when firing.
Finally, the 5 RND magazine is equipped to increase the gun’s base 3 RND magazine. Three rounds is just not enough, so the 5 RND attachment is an upgrade but also features no negatives to the ADS time.
