The best Victus XMR loadout in MW2

The Victus XMR was a Season 1 Battle Pass weapon in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It’s a bolt-action sniper rifle that has the highest damage stat of any sniper currently in multiplayer. Moreover, it’s one of the more consistent sniper rifles in the game, making it a popular pick among the sniping community. If you want to take full advantage of the Victus XMR in MW2, you will need to use its best loadout in multiplayer.

By default, the Victus XMR has a giant scope that zooms players in quite far. It also has decent mobility and the ability to one-shot kill enemies from the chest and up. The sniper doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses, but if I were to single out one, it would be its fire rate. The Victus takes slightly longer to rechamber a bullet than other snipers, meaning you are left exposed for longer after firing a shot. This small issue is not fixable with the Victus’ set of attachments, but I can improve one other key area to make it a strong contender for the sniping meta.

Best Victus XMR loadout in MW2

The stat we’ll be focusing on improving with the Victus’ loadout is mobility. If players can aim down sights quicker, they can pick off enemies at any range much easier. This should make the Victus’ low fire rate a negligible problem.

• Barrel: Mack 8 21.5″ Short
• Optic: SP-X 80 Optic
• Stock: XRK Rise 50
• Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity
• Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip

We’ll start off with the barrel, which improves ADS and movement speed at the cost of damage range. The .50 Cal High Velocity ammunition also reduces damage range to increase bullet velocity. But since the Victus already had such a high damage stat, these losses are manageable. Next, we have two attachments to improve mobility in the XRK Rise 50 Stock and Bruen Q900 Grip.

Finally, there’s the tried and true SP-X 80 Optic, which replaces the massive default scope of the Victus.

As a final note, you can use the Victus XMR in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
