One of the biggest beneficiaries from the Season 5 update in Call of Duty: Warzone was the Vanguard PPSh-41. In an effort to reduce the number of players using the Armaguerra 43, Raven Software buffed a few other submachine guns.
One of the largest buffs was applied to the PPSh-41, but this wasn’t to the gun’s base stats. Instead, the developers buffed one key attachment that has allowed the PPSh-41 and its new loadout to dominate Warzone Season 5 thus far.
The attachment that Raven Software buffed is the 8mm Nambu 71 Round Mags. These mags saw their damage penalty completely removed, while their damage range penalty was also decreased by 5%. While this doesn’t seem like a huge deal, equipping this specific magazine allows players to kill enemies much quicker. Players can now have a large magazine without having to trade off damage in exchange. There’s still a damage range penalty when using the magazine, but if players keep their gunfights at close range, they won’t notice this effect.

Compared to the previous season’s top loadout for the PPSh-41, a few attachments have been changed. Most notably, the 8mm Nambu 71 Round Mags are in place as a result of their buff. Subsonic has also been added in the Ammo Type slot. This attachment has grown in popularity over the last few seasons thanks to its ability to keep players off of the mini-map when firing.
Finally, the loadout emphasizes mobility over accuracy with the addition of the Fabric Grip. As previously stated, players should keep their gunfights at close range to reap the full benefits of this PPSh-41 loadout in Warzone.
