Out of all of the close-range weapons in the meta of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5, there are few that actually kill faster than the Sten. The Sten is a Vanguard submachine gun that has been largely underrated for the majority of its time in Warzone. This is despite featuring decent stats and a terrific time-to-kill that competes with any meta SMG in the game. This time-to-kill mainly stems from the top loadout for the Sten in Warzone, which improves a wide-ranging number of stats.
Over the past couple of months, many Warzone YouTubers have called the Sten one of, if not the best SMG in Warzone. Of course, since Warzone’s weapon meta is ever-changing due to weapon balancing, this opinion has cooled since the Season 5 update. Still, the Sten wasn’t touched in that update, meaning that it’s as strong as it was before Season 5. While other SMGs, like the PPSh-41, have arisen to the top of the meta, the Sten deserves a chance from players looking to bolster their close-range game in Warzone.

The overall goal of this loadout is to increase the Sten’s time-to-kill by boosting fire rate. The Recoil Booster and SA 65mm Rapid barrel both accomplish this goal, bolstering the Sten’s fire rate by huge proportions. The rest of the loadout is mainly focused on mobility, with the Mark IV Skeletal, Taped Grip, and Quick all offering different boosts to the stat.
While other SMGs currently dominate the meta in Warzone Season 5, this Sten loadout is worth a spot on any class.
