The light machine gun class was predicted to be extremely strong in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 based on the class’ performance in Modern Warfare 2. However, there was no indication as to what LMG would emerge as the top weapon from the class. Some thought it would be the RAAL MG, thanks to its amazing damage range, while others thought the 556 Icarus would reign supreme. Early on, though, it appears the RPK and its best loadout have come out of nowhere to be the best LMG in Warzone 2.
The RPK has virtually no recoil, low mobility, and a high damage range in Warzone 2. This can be said for most of the other light machine guns, but the RPK has certain attachments that make it a true contender for the overall meta in Season 1. Players have been using the RPK to their utmost advantage early on in Warzone 2, so it’s likely worth it for players to rank the LMG up to its max level. Then, they can throw on its best set of attachments.
Best RPK loadout in Warzone 2
In order to become a meta weapon in Warzone 2, the RPK needs to buff some of its stats. Mainly, players will want to focus on damage range, recoil control, and mobility. All of these boosted stats can make the RPK one of the best weapons to use in Warzone 2.

- Barrel: TAC 597 Barrel
- Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
- Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
- Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip
The first two attachments on the loadout, the Polarfire-S muzzle and TAC 597 Barrel, are both in place to increase damage range and bullet velocity. The barrel also boosts movement speed, which is vital to ensuring the RPK can keep up with enemies on the map. The 7.62 High Velocity provides another boost to bullet velocity while the FSS OLE-V Laser improves overall mobility. Finally, the Demo-X2 Grip slightly increases recoil control, making for a fully-rounded RPK loadout.
