After a season-long reign atop the weapon meta, the time has finally come. In the Season 2 weapon balancing update of Call of Duty: Warzone, the RPK light machine gun was hit with a hard nerf. Most fans knew this was coming, as no gun stays on top of the meta for that long without getting hit with a sizable nerf. While it looks like the RPK will still be usable, the question of how dominant its loadout is now is at the forefront of the Warzone community.
In the weapon balancing patch notes for Season 2, the developers at Raven Software made the following changes to the RPK:
- Small reduction to ADS movement speed
- Reduced mid and long-range damage
- Reduced damage ranges
- Small increase to ADS time
The reductions to damage range really hurt the RPK where it lives, as it was the best long-range weapon in Warzone. However, it seems the nerfs didn’t affect the gun too much. Regardless, players who still want to use the RPK should throw on its best possible attachments. To see the full loadout for the RPK in Warzone, keep reading below.
Best RPK Loadout in Warzone
- Muzzle: Zulu-60
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Optic: Aim Op-V4
- Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip
- Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
This has been the standard loadout for the RPK in Warzone 2 for quite some time. The Zulu-60 muzzle adds some much-needed damage range and bullet velocity while the FTAC Ripper 56 and Demo-X2 Grip add extra recoil control. The 7.62 High Velocity ammo provides a boost to bullet velocity and the Aim-OP V4 is the standard pick for a long-range optic.
