The best Ranked Play loadouts in Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 5

The best competitive options

The arrival of Season 5 in Call of Duty: Vanguard is the last content update the game will see, aside from the mid-season Reloaded update. With Season 5 being the last in Vanguard, it also means that there likely won’t be any new Ranked Play seasons. Any fan that is just getting into Ranked Play or players that are returning to the mode will need to know the top loadouts to close out Vanguard with a bang.

There are two main loadouts players need to know to excel in Ranked Play. While players won’t be at a huge disadvantage if they don’t use these specific attachments, they might find themselves losing gunfights to enemies who have them equipped. Additionally, players can always use any non-restricted weapon they desire, but they’ll be putting themselves at a distinct disadvantage if they don’t use the Automaton or MP40.

Below, we go over the specific attachments to use for both the Automaton and MP40 in Ranked Play.

Ranked Play Automaton loadout

We’ll begin with the Automaton, which is pretty much the only assault rifle players will see in Ranked Play. It has a tremendous fire rate to go along with virtually no recoil. However, its recommended loadout only boosts these stats for competitive players. Remember, though, some attachments that might be successful in public matches will be restricted in Ranked Play.

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Anastasia Sniper
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Zac Skeletal
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: N/A
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Tight Grip
  • Kit: On-Hand

Ranked Play MP40 loadout

Next up is the MP40, the dominant SMG in Vanguard. There’s nothing else that comes close to the MP40, so players shouldn’t even try to experiment with other weapons in the class.

  • Muzzle: No. 3 Rifle Break
  • Barrel: Krausnick 317mm 04B
  • Optic: Krausnick IS01M
  • Stock: Krausnick 33m Folding
  • Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
  • Magazine: N/A
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Brace
  • Kit: Quick

These loadouts will remain as the top ones to use in Vanguard Ranked Play for the remainder of the game’s life cycle unless Sledgehammer Games decides to completely alter the meta.
