The secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard are a bit of a mixed bag. While the Top Break has an intriguing loadout and the Ratt looks to be the strongest overall, there’s no clear top option when it comes to pistols. This means weapons like the Machine Pistol can enter the conversation in Vanguard with its surprising loadout.
When a player first starts using the Machine Pistol in Vanguard, the first thing they’ll notice is how much recoil it has. With only ten bullets in the base magazine and a blistering high fire rate, the Machine Pistol is almost unusable without attachments. The recoil kicks straight up and players don’t have enough bullets or time to get it under control and achieve kills. However, if players manage to level it up, they can take advantage of its top loadout in Vanguard.
Best Machine Pistol loadout in Vanguard
The recommended loadout for the Machine Pistol needs to focus on one stat: recoil control. Players also need to address its magazine size but the recoil needs to be manageable for players to have any chance in a gunfight.
- Muzzle: Mercury Silencer
- Barrel: VDD 140MM HE
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Trigger Action: Steady Trigger
- Magazine: 7.62 Tokarev 40 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
- Proficiency: Panic
- Kit: Fully Loaded
There are several attachments on this loadout to help with recoil control. The Mercury Silencer, VDD 140MM HE barrel, Steady Trigger, Stippled Grip and 7.62 Tokarev 40 Round Mags all improve recoil control in some way. The Machine Pistol’s damage range is reduced in the process but if players are staying close to enemies, that won’t be too much of an issue.
One interesting part of this loadout is the Panic Proficiency. This gives players better accuracy after swapping to it. So, players want to ensure they’re taking advantage of that by only using it after swapping to it from their primary weapon. With these attachments, the Machine Pistol becomes a usable secondary in Vanguard.
