Currently, there are only two shotguns in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta. However, with how strong the Lockwood 680 is, you won’t see many players complaining about that. The Lockwood 680 is a pump-action shotgun in Modern Warfare 3 and has a lethal loadout of attachments for multiplayer.
While not a completely overpowered weapon, the Lockwood 680 can be quite frustrating to play against, especially on smaller maps like Skidrow and Rust. It has a decent one-shot kill range and a fast fire rate, making it difficult to combat unless you hit the first shot from a far enough distance. Of course, if you’re on the other end of the shotgun, then you can deal some devastating blows to an enemy team in MW3.
To see the best loadout for the Lockwood 680 in Modern Warfare 3, check out the guide below.
Best Lockwood 680 loadout in the Modern Warfare 3 beta
- Barrel: Bryson Hammerforged Long Barrel
- Optic: MK.23 Reflector
- Stock: Sawed Off Mod
- Guard: Matuzek Lightbearer Ergo Guard
The main attachments on this loadout give you stronger mobility when using the Lockwood 680. The Bryson Hammerforged Long Barrel gives you extra movement speed, aim down sight speed as well as added bullet velocity and range. That’s followed up by the Sawed Off Mod, further increasing your ADS speed and sprint-to-fire time.

The Matuzek Lightbearer Ergo Guard also improves sprint-to-fire time, but the primary goal of the Guard is to increase rechambering speed. This allows you to get off shots quicker, which is crucial if you get hitmarkers with the Lockwood 680. The final attachment on the loadout is the MK.23 Reflector optic. This isn’t a necessary attachment, but does help with those longer-range engagements.
The Lockwood 680 with these attachments comes close to being overpowered in MW3, so use it while you can during the beta.
