One of the most infamous weapons in the entire Call of Duty franchise is the 725 shotgun from Modern Warfare 2019. At the game’s launch, and for several weeks after, the 725 wreaked havoc throughout multiplayer. It had the ability to one-shot opponents across the map, even though it was a shotgun. While the Lockwood 300 hasn’t had the same effect in MW2, its recommended loadout can get you close to reaching a similar level of devastation.
Like the 725, the Lockwood 300 is a double-barrel shotgun, meaning it only has two slugs in the chamber before needing to reload. Depending on the range you’re shooting an enemy at, you will likely need both of those slugs to kill an opponent. However, if you’re within 5-10 meters, one slug might do the trick if you aim for the upper body.
To get the most out of the Lockwood 300 in MW2, check out my best loadout for it in the guide below.
Best Lockwood 300 loadout in MW2
We’ve designed this Lockwood 300 loadout mostly for agility and mobility purposes. Since the shotgun only has two slugs, players need to be mobile in case they need to escape from a sticky situation.
- Muzzle: XTEN v2.0 Choke
- Barrel: Matuzek 812 Barrel
- Laser: VLK LZR 7mW
- Stock: Heist Stock Mod
- Guard: Buck-Pro
The loadout begins with the XTEN x2.0 Chokle and the Matuzek 812 Barrel. These two attachments significantly improve the Lockwood’s damage range and gives it a tighter pellet spread. That’s followed up by the VLK LZR 7mW laser and the Heist Stock Mod, which greatly improve your aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time with the Lockwood 300.
Best Lockwood 300 Class Setup in MW2
If you’re looking to wrap up the rest of your class, I have a recommended list of perks, equipment, and a secondary weapon that will all complement the Lockwood 300 in MW2.
Perks
- Base Perks – Double Time, Bomb Squad
- Bonus Perk – Fast Hands
- Ultimate Perk – Quick Fix
Secondary Weapon
- Any pistol you feel comfortable with
Equipment
- Lethal – Semtex Grenade
- Tactical – Flash Grenade
Double Time and Bomb Squad are the base perks, which allow players to move quicker and survive any lethal equipment. Fast Hands is the perfect perk for shotguns since it gives players the ability to reload and swap weapons quicker. The final perk is Quick Fix, allowing players to heal up after they get a kill, which is great for close-range gunfights.
As a final note, you can use the Lockwood 300 in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
