The Season 4 weapon balancing update has altered the meta in Call of Duty: Warzone dramatically, and one of the more common guns that players are trying is the FN Scar-17 rifle from Modern Warfare.
The update has pole-vaulted previously forgotten weapons, like the Groza, to the top of the meta. Previously, the FN Scar-17 was lost in the shuffle of all of the other overpowered rifles in Warzone. The CR-56 AMAX, FFAR, Cold War AK-47 and others essentially dug the Scar-17’s grave. However, it’s received a revitalization in Season 4 with a solid buff to its damage. To compensate for this improvement, the AR’s top loadout needs some adjusting.
Best FN Scar-17 loadout in Warzone
Raven Software decided not to give the Scar-17 as large of a buff as other weapons. There were only a couple of areas affected by the buff but they’re significant by themselves. The exact buff for the FN Scar-17 in Season 4 is as follows:
- Neck Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.5
- Upper Torso damage multiplier increased from 1 to 1.2
The developers prefaced this with the disclaimer that the Scar-17 will likely be buffed again in the future. This smaller buff is to ensure that it’s not powerful from the get-go. However, the Scar’s top loadout is a powerhouse on Verdansk if used correctly.
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: FORGE TAC 20.0″
- Optic: PBX Holo 7 Sight
- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
- Ammunition: 30 Rounds Mags
The FORGE TAC 20.0″ barrel — which boosts damage range, recoil control and bullet velocity — is at the center of the loadout. With this attachment, and the Season 4 buff, the Scar-17 should be a force at medium to long-ranges. Furthering that cause is the Monolithic Suppressor and Commando Foregrip, both of which reduce recoil.
For an optic, the PBX Holo 7 Sight is in place. This sight offers a decent zoom and a clear screen when aiming down sights. This is perfect for the Scar’s preferred range.
While it might not be at the top of the meta, this FN Scar-17 loadout could quickly become a familiar sight in Warzone.
