In recent weeks, the NZ-41 has emerged as a viable competitive option in Call of Duty: Vanguard. While players don’t have Ranked Play, as of yet, it’s confirmed to release at the start of Season 2. Activision delayed Season 2 until Feb. 14, so players have some time to get their loadouts ready for the new ranked mode. The NZ-41 has a loadout that can compete with both the Automaton and STG44 in competitive Vanguard.
Until recently, the NZ-41 was never thought of as a competitive weapon. The Automaton and STG44 have clogged up the assault rifle class, for the most part, not allowing for other rifles to enter the meta. However, with the right loadout, the NZ-41 can easily compete, and sometimes outclass, those two weapons.

Unbeknownst to many players, the NZ-41 can have virtually no recoil. The right set of attachments gives the NZ-41 a laser beam for a shot, allowing it to beam an enemy with the Automaton without much trouble. In addition to that, the NZ can two-three shot enemies, depending on the range. With a properly placed headshot, players can two-tap enemies at close to medium-range.
- Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
- Barrel:Â Orbweaver 360MM BC
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: Orbweaver Elite
- Underbarrel:Â M1941 Hand Stop
- Magazine: N/A
- Ammo Type: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
- Proficiency: Brace
- Kit: On-Hand
This set of attachments won’t do anything for the NZ-41’s mobility. However, it increases recoil control in several ways and also improves damage range slightly. The F8 Stabilizer is the only attachment to boost damage range while Lengthened improves bullet velocity to make the gun’s bullets connect faster.
The rest of the loadout solely focuses on recoil control. There is no magazine in use as the two that are allowed in competitive severely hinder the NZ-41’s damage and range. Players likely won’t need a magazine, though, as they can shred through enemies with just a few bullets using this NZ-41 loadout in Vanguard.
