On June 1, 2021, Treyarch surprisingly released the latest Season 3 weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The AMP63 pistol was known to be arriving sometime this season; now it is officially available for players to fully unlock or buy the secondary pistol in both multiplayer and zombies.

Like any other weapon in Cold War, the AMP63 isn’t exceptional in its base form. The damage is lacking and the recoil is a bit extreme. However, once players begin to level up the weapon, they can take full advantage of its recommended loadout.

The AMP63 is a fully automatic pistol, the first of its kind in Cold War. It features moderate stats as, in the past, fully-auto pistols have sometimes broken the game with how strong they are. This makes the AMP63 a little weaker in Cold War Season 3; a calculated move to ensure that it’s not too overpowered.

While it might be buffed in the future, the pistol is still a decent secondary in its current state. That is, provided players have the right loadout.

  • Muzzle: SOCOM Eliminator
  • Barrel: 6.4″ Task Force
  • Body: Ember Sighting Point
  • Magazine: Salvo 22 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Stock: Dual Wield

The AMP63’s biggest negative that this loadout addresses is its low damage output. For this reason, a suppressor isn’t recommended; it lowers the overall damage. In its place, the SOCOM Eliminator is in use to lower the gun’s recoil.

To maximize damage, the 6.4″ Task Force is equipped along with the Dual Wield stock. The Task Force barrel increases both damage and damage range at the expense of recoil while the Dual Wield stock gives players two of the guns instead of one.

With a weapon in each hand, players can no longer aim down sights. As such, the Ember Sighting Point is equipped. This offers players extra hip-fire accuracy along with a 30% increase to reveal distance. Piggybacking off of this is the Salvo 22 Rnd Fast Mag, which usually hurts ADS time. However, with this loadout, it becomes moot.

The AMP63 certainly isn’t the best pistol in Black Ops Cold War but this loadout makes it much more enjoyable to use.
